Any update on these projects?

As we all know, the climate crisis has presented one of the biggest challenges to marine life in the history of the world. As the oceans warm, ecosystems are disrupted, species are forced to adapt faster than they can, and chaos reigns. And unfortunately, as the waters go, so goes the world. In other words, we have a major stake in ensuring that life below our waters continues to thrive. That's why the UN has included it in its sustainable development goals.
The silver lining in all of this is that technology has made it possible to address some of these issues in innovative ways. This article from 2017 highlighted some of those innovations, but I haven't heard much since then. Has anyone come across any updates related to these projects? Have you seen any other inventions or technological improvements that could help with the problems brewing beneath the waves?
